Hi Curl friends it’s me, Naturally Sage!
I started this blog because I believe All Natural Hair is Good Hair. I hope to inspire and empower all black women to rock their natural crown as it grows. I believe the way we can do this is by doing it together. By showing each other love and sharing our stories. I wanted to create a community for curlies to come together and create our own standard of beauty. This is the era to embrace the FRIZZ and the SHRINKAGE.
I went natural about 3 years ago when I tired of keeping up with relaxers and consistently going into the salon. At first like many other people who go natural, I had no idea how to take care of my curls. I was trying new products and new styles that never seemed to work. I was unsatisfied with my curl pattern, texture and the overall look of my hair. Instead of focusing so much on my lack of curl pattern or the shrinkage that I felt cursed by, I started to put all my energy into figuring out how I can properly care for my hair. Believe it or not, when your hair is healthy you’re more likely to get your desired style or look. I realized the importance of caring for and loving my hair as it grows. Because when I didn’t love my hair as it grew, I felt this pressure to constantly layer products on my hair to change the texture and pattern. So I finally let go of the idea that my hair was supposed to look like someone or something else in order to regain peace. Accepting things for what they are has given me peace and I promise it will for you too.
